What makes you passionate about working in childcare? My life’s motto is “if you don’t love what you do, change what you do”. I love working in early childhood education. For me it’s about meeting new people, young and old, from all walks of life. I love that we can all come together and share our skills, expertise and experiences while providing important learning opportunities for the next generation. It really does take a village to raise a child. I respect family values and enjoy learning from many different cultures and backgrounds.

What is the funniest or most memorable moment you can share from working in childcare? There are so many that have enriched my life. I do love the backhanded compliments the children give out in their totally unintentional and innocent way especially when it concerns your personal appearance… “Ewwww your perfume smells today”, “I like your tummy, its all squishy”, “The colour on your eyes (make up) looks nice- just like a clown”. Hilarious!

Why do you believe your centre is an excellent choice for parents seeking the best childcare? Our centre is committed to continual improvement so that we continue to provide an amazing and interactive learning environment for children and families. We are firm believers in nature based learning and are working towards a more natural and hands on outdoor environment with our vegetable garden, chickens, dirt play, mud patch and rockery which the children have helped plan and develop. I have also been very proactive in connectedness with local schools and in 2016 this came to fruition with a very successful relationship with Granville State School and their Pockets program- assisting kindergarten children with a smooth transition into prep the following year.
